UAE council discuss Abu Dhabi strategy

Abu Dhabi, December 29, 2013

UAE’s Federal Demographic Structure Council discussed developments pertaining to its strategy implementation that was approved in Abu Dhabi recently.

Led by Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the council reviewed the ongoing co-ordination efforts with federal and local government entities to follow-up the progress and completions of joint projects and programmes.

The council members examined a number of reports and studies, and adopted the appropriate recommendations, and called for the following-up on the implementation process with the concerned authorities.

“These directives call for the empowerment of citizens, being the main pillars of the overall sustainable development,” remarked Sheikh Saif.

He also emphasised the need to develop comprehensive and realistic solutions, commensurate with the development plans and the state’s strategic objective to build a knowledge-based economy, led by qualified and knowledgeable UAE nationals.

“Empowering citizens and building a knowledge-based economy that adopts the best practices, advanced technologies and knowledge, will ultimately reduce the UAE’s reliance on foreign unskilled labour. It will also boost the country’s competitiveness and create opportunities for the qualitative Emiratisation process,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
