Dubai chamber F&B group sets roadmap for 2014

The Food and Beverage Business Group, a non-profit industry group under the auspices of Dubai Chamber, set a roadmap of strategic activities to align with the fast developing economic landscape of UAE.
The group's role is that of a facilitator between industry, the voice of business community, opening communication channels among the member companies and government to sustain the growth and excellence of food industry of Dubai, and expanding the reach of group out to the wider region.
Saleh Abdullah Lootah, Chairman of Food and Beverage Business Group, said the foremost thing the group must do is to get involved with the relevant ministries and authorities to tackle issues faced by the food and beverage businesses in Dubai.
He was addressing a business networking event of the owners of food and beverage industry on the sidelines of the Gulfood show held recently in Dubai.
The second priority is capacity building by technical and managerial training and sharing best practices, he stated.
“The group not only plans to leverage its Dubai base across UAE but outside the country as well by affiliating itself with the local and international industry events such as Gulfood in Dubai, SIAL in Paris and Abu Dhabi and Anuga in Germany”, explained Saleh Lootah.
According to him, the involvement of the F&B group with MICE industry was part of its strategy as the trade events and meetings create global networking and business opportunities.
On its future plans, Lootah said the group will soon announce its long-term association with Gulfood exhibition.
“We are discussing strategic partnerships with the business bodies of different countries that are established in UAE. This is to create synergy of different business cultures and connecting them with the UAE industry and businessmen. We will soon announce our first partnership with a business council of an European country," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
