Al Noor-Samsung fun fair raises over $170,000

Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs has raised Dh630,000 ($171,517) at the 2014 edition of Al Noor-Samsung Hope for Children Family Fun Fair.
The event, which was held recently at the Al Noor Training Centre, was attended by more than 5,000 visitors, including employees and volunteers from the local community and featured fun, games and activities.
The proceeds from the event will be used to partly cover the running costs of the institute, to benefit children with special needs.
Isphana Al-Khatib, director of the centre, said: “Our priority is to provide a safe, engaging environment where children with special needs can learn and grow. By providing the latest training techniques, educational activities and technologies that stimulate the development of our students, we can help improve their lives and encourage their integration into society.”
The title sponsor - Samsung also organised a raffle draw, which saw 20,000 raffle tickets sold at Dh10 each, with 15 people winning Samsung products including a Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Grand and Smart TVs.
Mr Young Soo Kim, president of Samsung Gulf Electronics, said: “Through Samsung Hope for Children, we have the opportunity to continue our commitment to create new possibilities for children to pursue their interests and have a successful future.”
