Bahrain combats drug addiction in schools

Manama, April 27, 2014

Bahrain’s Education Ministry has stepped up efforts to prevent drug addiction in the school community, a report said.

It has organised a three-day awareness programme to shed light on the scourge of drugs, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

More than 400 students from 40 schools took part, alongside teachers, social counselling specialists and parents.

The scheme features films and plays showcasing the psychological and social effects of drug addiction.
