New “Galaxy Tab S” launched in Saudi
Jeddah, August 14, 2014
Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has launched the Galaxy Tab S in Jeddah.
This ‘Super Amoled’ tablet comes with a full range of productivity features for effortless multi-tasking which caters to Saudi consumers’ needs, the company said
The Galaxy Tab delivers a wider range of rich and crisp colours. Its industry-leading WQXGA (2560x1600, 16:10) Super Amoled display meets more than 90 per cent of Adobe RGB colour coverage and has a 100,000:1 contrast ratio which provides deeper and more realistic images by making blacks darker and whites brighter, a statement said.
An additional Samsung screen technology is featured which adjusts gamma, saturation, and sharpness based on the application being viewed, the colour temperature of the viewing environment and ambient lighting. For professionals, “Amoled Cinema” and “Amoled Photo” lets users manually adjust the display settings for bright, dynamic results for both video and photo content, it said.
In addition, the tablet’s advanced outdoor visibility technology makes content easy to view.
The Galaxy Tab S consumes less energy than comparative LCD displays, since “Super Amoled” technology doesn’t require a backlight. The two models carried by Samsung have a sleek 6.6mm profile and weigh 465g (10.5-inch) and 294g (8.4-inch) respectively and will be available in 16 or 32GB with a MicroSD (up to 128 GB), it said.
Samsung has partnered with Google Play for access to a variety of content, the company said.
The Galaxy experience
The Galaxy Tab S delivers a selection of productivity and security features, available on both the Wi-Fi and LTE versions, the statement said.
Users can make and receive calls directly from their phone to their Galaxy Tab S, connect their tab to nearby devices, for content sharing, using Quick Connect. Additional useful features include ‘Multi User Mode’ that enables users to create their own personal optimized profile, accessing safely and conveniently with ‘Fingerprint Scanner’ for up to 8 users, it said. – TradeArabia News Service
