‘Traffic Black Points’ counter opened in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, November 25, 2014

The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) has designated a counter for the Traffic Black Points Reduction Program in the reception of the customer service in the main centre in the emirate.

It falls in line with the directives of the Police Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, said a statement.

Lieutenant Colonel Saif Obaid Al Khaili, head of the Police Follow-up Department, said this step reflects the keenness of the policing departments to jointly promote awareness to the public.

“The counter will receive the enquiries from the public daily over the course of a week,” he said.

“The employees that are staffing the counter will be ready to answer any questions that customers may have, and register those that are willing to participate in the program. These steps will be taken in order to raise the level of communication with the public and the services provided- with special care taken to reach the largest possible sector of the public.”

The programme aims at providing drivers with the chance to avoid having their licenses revoked and to improve the behaviour of drivers.

The lectures to be provided to the participants during the programme will help rehabilitate drivers and remind them of the risks of committing violations - which could lead to revoking their license, said the statement.

The Police Follow-up Department, represented by the Traffic Black Points Program Section, works to educate drivers, and to provide services to reduce the traffic black points and the violations which may lead to having their licenses revoked, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
