Bid to smuggle marijuana foiled in Bahrain

MANAMA, May 29, 2015

Customs officers have foiled an attempt to smuggle 890.5 grams of marijuana through Bahrain International Airport.

Two foreigners, who arrived on the same flight, tried to go through the Green Channel, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

However, on suspicion, the officers redirected them to the Red Channel where they found 455.8gms of the drug hidden in four slippers stuffed under clothes in one of the passenger's handbag.

They also found 435.7gms of marijuana inside four slippers from the second passenger.

They have been referred to the Public Prosecution. - TradeArabia News Service
