Afghan worker stabs friend in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, June 14, 2015

The Abu Dhabi Police recently arrested an Afghan worker over the murder of his compatriot in their accommodation in Al Samha in Abu Dhabi.

The suspect confessed to stabbing his roommate and slitting his throat with a knife for refusing sexual intercourse with him.

Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammad Borshid, head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, explained that the 22-year old Afghan worker slit the throat of his 21-year old compatriot and stabbed him to death repeatedly as many as nine times in the neck. The culprit seized the opportunity to be alone with the victim while the other workers were not around.

Colonel Borshid also noted that police, CID and ambulance teams were dispatched to the crime scene upon receiving tip off about the murder, where they discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood. An initial investigation showed evidence of foul play, and that the victim was stabbed to death several times in the neck with a sharp tool.

“The police quickly assigned a team from the Psychological Crimes Section at the CID to track down the suspect who went into hiding after fleeing the crime scene. The team managed to arrest him hours later and he confessed to stabbing the victim to death with a knife in revenge for refusing intimacy,’ Colonel Borshid said. – TradeArabia News Service
