ATM attacks in Bahrain 'an Iranian plot'

TEHRAN, September 19, 2015

Members of a terrorist group were waiting for a “zero hour signal” from Iranian operatives to blow up ATM machines in Bahrain, a court heard.

A Bahraini policeman was giving evidence in the trial of five men, aged between 20 and 28, accused of conspiring with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and detonating explosives in Bahrain, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

ATM machines belonging to the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) were among the targets, according to case files.

The suspects were also responsible for recruiting several Bahraini teenagers and providing them with militia training at camps in Iran operated by the IRGC.
