TLC, AlSiddiqi in deal to reopen Maya La Chocolaterie in Qatar

MANAMA, November 19, 2015

The Living Concepts Bahrain (TLC) has signed a strategic partnership with Qatari holding company AlSiddiqi Holding, to re-enter the Qatari market with the Maya La Chocolaterie.

Under the strategic partnership, AlSiddiqi Holding has been granted the franchise rights to operate and manage the Maya La Chocolaterie, the famous chocolate boutique and Maya Delices - the upscale catering and patisserie brands within Qatar.

Aly Delawar, AlSiddiqi board member and chief executive officer, said: "Bringing unique concepts to the Qatari market has always been on our blueprint. The signing of the agreement with TLC and Maya is an attestation of our commitment to introduce a luxury chocolate experience in Doha."

Chocolate lovers are expected to be reunited soon with Maya as the expansion plans were revealed at a press conference.

Hamad Janahi, TLC managing director, said: “Given Maya’s well-established presence in the GCC, we are excited to add seven new chocolate boutiques in Doha within the next five years, three of them to be operational before the 1st quarter of 2016; thus further expanding our offerings in the region.” - TradeArabia News Service
