Gulf army against extremists ‘essential’

MANAMA, December 29, 2015

A unified Gulf military force to combat extremists is “essential” following recent developments in Syria, according to a top analyst.

Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) executive director Dr Khalid Al Ruwaihi said with Russian’s military intervention in Syria, the GCC countries had to come together to form a unified force, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
