Dubai ranked ‘healthiest’ in UberEATS poll

DUBAI, August 23, 2017

The UAE has surpassed countries across the world to be named the ‘healthiest’ location where UberEATS operates, according to a global poll conducted by the leading on-demand food delivery service powered by Uber.

The results show that an encouraging 20 per cent of all orders from UberEATS in the UAE, and more specifically in Dubai where UberEATS is available, were made from healthy restaurants, with the healthiest neighbourhoods in town including Business Bay, DIFC and Downtown.

As a nod to the top food trend of 2017, poke bowls are the most in-demand healthy dish, available from Poke Poke, Circle Cafe, Cali-Poke and PokeArt on the popular food delivery application. Twenty-five per cent of all orders including salads, light stir fries and low calorie food bowls have been ordered from healthy and cafe restaurant categories, versus a modest 5-10 per cent of burger, pizza and other fast food options.

Damien Drap, general manager for UberEATS Dubai said: “The entire UberEATS Dubai team is thrilled that Dubai has been the city that orders the healthiest eats, out of more than 100 cities around the world where UberEATS is present. It gives us great satisfaction to know that UberEATS is contributing to the healthy eating trend in the UAE and we remain committed to ensuring that food from our partner restaurants is always delivered fast and fresh, with the same reliability and convenience people have come to expect from Uber.”

At the tap of a button, UberEATS offers a variety of local favourites and cuisines from hundreds of top outlets across the city, with short delivery times at around 30-minutes. Following its launch almost one year ago, UberEATS Dubai has expanded across the city, now delivering from a network of over 800 restaurants. – TradeArabia News Service
