UAE leads in military deals at Dubai Airshow
DUBAI, November 21, 2019
Dubai Airshow 2019 is proving to be a bumper year for armed forces purchase and maintenance deals, with the UAE Ministry of Defence among those unveiling major contracts at the show, a senior official was quoted as saying by Emirates news agency Wam.
On the third day of the airshow, the UAE signed almost Dh3 billion ($816.6 million) worth of military contracts, major-general Pilot Abdullah Al Sayyed Al Hashemi, assistant under-secretary of the Ministry of Defence for Support Services announced during a press briefing on day three of the show.
The list of the signed agreements released by the GHQ of the UAE Armed Forces include:
• Contract with MBDA France to provide maintenance of ammunition for Mirage 2000 aircraft for a value of Dh1,281,400,000 ($348.8 million).
• Contract with GAL For Upgrade of Electronics systems for GHQ For a value of Dh241,315,520 ($65.6 million)
• Contract with AHMED Al Mazroei Metal Industries For Providing Technical support and Spare Parts for Air Force and Air Defence For a value of Dh8,000,000 ($2.1 million)
• Contract with Harris For Purchasing of Communication and Signal Systems For a value of Dh49,782,289 ($13.5 million)
• Contract with Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council For Providing of Calibration, Consultancy and Training Services For a value of Dh20,000,000 ($5.4 million)
• Contract with Northrop Grumman International Trading For Providing Technical Experts for Control System For a value of Dh32,940,166 ($8.9 million)
• Contract with Abu Dhabi Autonomous System Investments For Purchasing UAVs Systems and Providing Technical Support For a value of Dh129,754,574 ($35.3 million)
• Contract with Lockheed Martin Global For Purchasing F-16 Simulators For a value of Dh533,319,600 ($145.1 million)
• Contract with MAG Ds Corp For Purchasing and Modification of CESSNA 208 For a value of Dh220,380,000 ($59.9 million)
• Contract with Advance Navigation & Positioning Corporation For Purchasing of Auto Landing Equipment TTLS For a value of Dh36,698,896 ($9.9 million)
• Contract with Hellinec For Technicians Training For a value of Dh19,079,760 ($5.1 million)
• Contract with International Golden Group IGG For Providing Technical Support for Mobile Ground Targets For a value of Dh13,651,871 ($3.7 million)
