UAE recorded 6,813 accidents last year
Dubai

UAE reported as many as 6,813 road accidents during 2007, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

While these accidents are posing a sinister problem that the UAE police authorities have to deal with, it has opened valuable opportunities for those in the collision repair businesses, it added.

“While the number of cars on UAE’s roads has dramatically increased over the past ten years, there hasn’t been a proportionate expansion in service bays and repair shops to accommodate this expanding market,” said Eckhard Pruy, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organisers of Automechanika Middle East.

He said the growth in cars coupled with the high accident ratios has resulted in profit spinning opportunities for the region’s collision repair workshops which have increased their participation at this year’s event to showcase the full range of diagnostic techniques.

Automechanika Middle East is the event for the rapidly developing automotive aftermarket in the wider Middle East and Africa. The event covers the full range of parts for motor vehicles, as well as components for the drive, chassis, body, electrics and electronic groups, equipment for vehicle service and repair, bodywork repair and painting, tyres, batteries and performance systems.

Prominent among the exhibitors to showcase collision repair equipment at Automechanika this year will include UAE’s Arwani Trading Company who will display their enhanced tools and equipment as well as sophisticated diagnostic techniques and software that enables their mechanics to repair collision vehicles effectively.

“Collisions are accidental, however quality repairs are not and as a specialist supplier in collision repair equipment our priority is to train workshops so that the restoration process is both swift and simple for the customer,” said general manager Hani Arwani.

“Accidents cause enough anguish for the customers and they don't need any additional headaches from the auto body shop. We help the workshops to select which equipment to use in order to achieve a high quality repair job that is accurate and corrosion free' said Arwani.

A perfectly polished Ferrari with a smashed front half will be among the eye catching exhibits on display at this year’s Automechanika Middle East demonstrating Arwani Trading Company’s chassis repair equipment.

Automechanika Middle East receives extensive industry support from 23 of the leading international associations and export promotion agencies from Europe, the United Stated, South America, Africa and Asia. – TradeArabia News Service
