Volkswagen recently unveiled the sixth generation of Europe’s most successful car, the new Golf, in a big global launch in Iceland.
The new Golf sets new standards in the compact class, with its clear and high-end design, refined interior styling and a level of comfort that is superior for its class, said an official.
Innovative technical details such as its DCC dynamic chassis control, advanced TDI and TSI engines and the DSG transmission developed by Volkswagen underscore the car’s leadership position in the “Golf class”, he added.
To date, more than 25 million Volkswagen Golf cars have been produced and sold all round the world confirming that it is the world's third best-selling model.
It is being introduced in three different line models - Trendline, followed by the Comfortline model and the Highline.
Other notable features include a highly advanced engine lineup and transmission options: a 6-speed or 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DSG), depending on the engine torque.
The new Golf will be first debuted to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008; its launch in the Middle East will follow in early 2009, said a statement.-TradeArabia News Service
