Goodyear unveils tyre with SilentArmor tech
Dubai, February 25, 2009
Goodyear has introduced a new 4x4 tyre featuring revolutionary SilentArmor technology which promises exceptional on and off-road performance.
Better performance is due to the durability of two layers made with DuPont Kevlar, a material which is five times stronger than steel, and Durawall sidewall reinforcement that enhances cut resistance in the sidewalls, said a company spokesperson.
'Tire safety, quality and performance are elements that are of high significance in driving, especially since tyres are the only parts of a vehicle that come in direct contact with the road,' said Octavian Velcan, general manager of Goodyear Middle East and Africa.
'Be it on- or off-road, in traffic or high speed driving, and dry or wet conditions, the new Wrangler AT/SA from Goodyear proves valuable to the extremely popular 4x4’s and SUV’s in the region.'
Tyres designed for all roads
The many features of the Wrangler AT/SA reinforce the tyre’s strength and handling abilities for both on and off the road.
Improved on-road handling
The Wrangler AT/SA features stiff shoulder blocks that ensure tread rigidity for improved on-road traction and handling. The addition of a centre-line rib on larger sizes also helps improve not only the on road handling but also helps reduce noise.
Extensive tyre tests
Extensive tyre tests prove that the Wrangler AT/SA outperforms its major competitors and its predecessor in both wet braking and wet handling tests, he added.
Improved tread design
The new polymer blend of the Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA is good not only for the environment due to its low aromatic oil content; it also provides excellent wet grip and mileage together with good off-road performance, while the tread’s high cut resistance also helps ensure good off road performance.
Available in various sizes
The Wrangler AT/SA is available in a 4-rib design and in a 5-rib design for larger sizes.-TradeArabia News Service
