$12m Bahrain Lexus showroom ready

Manama, November 3, 2010

Work on a $12 million (BD4.5 million) state-of-the-art showroom for Lexus cars has been completed, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo (EKK) has announced.

The 6,000 sqm building in Sitra has custom-made facilities to sell the brand, which commands over 60 per cent share of the segment in Bahrain, said EKK sales executive general manager Ismail Akbar.

The showroom, which will employ at least 20 new Bahraini staff, will open for business immediately after the Eid holidays this month, but will have a formal launch by the end of January next year.

'We now have this unique space which will deal with our exclusive customers,' Akbar told a Press conference at the dealership in Sitra.

'Twenty cars of various Lexus models will be on display at any time and the new car delivery area will be able to accommodate 18 cars at a time.

'There is ample parking space, special sales offices area, a sales support centre, conference rooms and cafes among others.

'Currently, Lexus has 13 models available in Bahrain. More models, including two hybrids, are on their way and will soon be available.'

He said the brand now has up to 15,000 cars in Bahrain, with approximately 200 added every month.

'We are unique because we offer the best customer service and the best vehicles,' said Akbar.

He said all recent issues with the earlier recall of some Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Bahrain had been addressed.

'We had to deal with a lot of people who thought 'recall' meant taking a new car. This is not the case,' said Akbar.-TradeArabia News Service
