Toyota shipments ‘to normalise soon’

Manama, June 8, 2011

The production of Toyota and Lexus vehicles and the shipment to the Middle East will be normalised earlier than originally expected, said a senior official of Toyota Motors.

“The road towards achieving normal production and full recovery is expected much sooner than anticipated,” said Hajime Sakaguchi, general manager of Middle East and Southwest Asia - sales and marketing division, Toyota Motor Corporation.

“Although supply levels were affected in the last two months and although our global production level is still below normal, we prioritized the Middle East market and expect to reach full shipping levels, much earlier than expected,” he added.

Sakaguchi was speaking during a visit a delegation from Toyota to the new Lexus showroom of Ebrahim K Kanoo, exclusive dealers for Toyota and Lexus in Bahrain.
