Land Rover picks Dubai show for global reveal
Dubai, October 28, 2013
Luxury automotive manufacturer Land Rover has announced that it has chosen this year’s Dubai International Motor Show as the location for its latest global reveal.
Taking place from the November 5 to 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, visitors to the Land Rover stand will be given the unique opportunity to witness the global unveiling of a special vehicle, a statement said.
Land Rover will also reveal its limited edition Defender LXV for the first time in the region, sitting alongside Land Rover’s 2014 model year line-up, the strongest in the brand’s 65 year history.
Robin Colgan, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Mena, said: “Jaguar Land Rover has seen a remarkable transformation since the last Dubai Motor Show in 2011 when we first launched the Range Rover Evoque, a vehicle that now accounts for around one third of all Land Rover’s sold globally.”
“Since then we have gone from strength to strength in the MENA region, with Land Rover sales up 38 per cent for the first half of our fiscal year - what better place than the Dubai International Motor Show 2013 to showcase the latest additions to the Land Rover line-up.
“With the runaway success of our recently introduced Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport, we are confident our latest line-up will wow visitors to this year’s show and continue to take the brand to new heights in the Mena region,” he added.
Land Rover highlights at DIMS 2013 will include the regional reveal of the Land Rover Defender LXV, a limited edition model.
First unveiled at a celebratory event to mark Land Rover’s 65th anniversary back in April, the Defender LXV (65 in roman numerals) is based on the standard Land Rover Defender which is equipped with the 2.2-litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual transmission, producing 122PS at 3,500rpm of power and 360Nm at 2,000rpm of torque.
