Bahrain F1 fans to meet favourite drivers

Manama, February 26, 2014

Formula One fans will have a chance to meet their favourite drivers this weekend in a pair of autograph sessions set up by Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) during the open days of pre-season testing.

Four days of tests were held at BIC last week in Sakhir, and they continue with another four days this week from tomorrow to Sunday, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

This week's sessions are the final tests prior to the start of the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship in Australia in mid-March.

Friday and Saturday will be open to the general public, and an autograph session has been scheduled for each of the open days.

The Friday signing will be held at 4pm, while the Saturday session will take place at 2pm.

The autograph signing will take place at the entrance of BIC's Paddock, in front of the stairs of Paddock Club.

Drivers from all 11 Formula One teams are expected to be taking part in the autograph sessions.

One driver from each team will be on hand each day.

Tickets to each open test day cost BD5 ($13) per person.

They can be purchased at the gate or at the BIC stands in Bahrain City Centre or Seef Mall, online at www.bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline.

Fans will be able to watch the testing from BIC's Main Grandstand, which overlooks the Formula One pit lane, team garages and the circuit's main straight.

Doors will be open to the public from 9am to 5pm.

The 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship kick starts in Australia on March 14.

The Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will be the third of 19 races this season, taking place from April 4 to 6 in Sakhir.

Tickets for the Grand Prix are also now on sale. - TradeArabia News Service
