660 Land Rovers to be recalled in UAE

Dubai, April 16, 2014

Al Tayer Motors, the local importer-dealer of Land Rover in the UAE, has recalled 660 Land Rover vehicles due to fault in front directional indicators, said a report.

The company revealed that the affected vehicles manufactured in the UK are on the UAE roads and would be recalled for repairing, said the Emirates 24/7 report.

In the affected vehicles, a concern has been identified where in the event of a front direction indicator lamp failure, the required audible and visual warning, (double click/double flash warning) is not provided, a company statement was quoted as saying.

The driver will not be alerted to a failure of one or both of the front directional indicators. In a failed condition other oncoming road users will not know the intended direction of the vehicle and this could lead to an increased risk of a vehicle crash, it said.

Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors, the official dealer for Land Rover vehicles in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, will contact owners of the affected vehicles to inform them about the recall for repairing, said the report.
