Renault registers 8pc jump in GCC sales

Renault, an international multi-brand automobile group, has entered 2014 confidently, pursuing its growth strategy with an eight per cent year-on-year increase in sales across the GCC.
Over the first three months in 2014, Renault Middle East posted a substantial rise of 18 per cent in a Dubai & Northern Emirates market up by 14 per cent year-on-year, said a company statement.
Renault’s strong performance across the Emirates was enhanced by the popularity of its new SUV Renault Duster and full range of passenger cars.
In Saudi Arabia, compared to 2013, Renault’s sales recorded 21 per cent sales growth on a 5 per cent market year-on-year. Over the first 2014 quarter, Renault remained, just as it did in 2013, the top European brand, it stated.
Renault Fluence and Renault Duster are the two best-selling European models.
In Qatar, following successful introduction of Renault Twizy at Qatar Motor Show, Renault recorded 10 per cent sales growth over a 7 per cent market increase.-TradeArabia News Service
