Manama, August 17, 2014

Two young Bahrainis were killed in a road accident in the Muharraq district of the kingdom yesterday (August 16) morning.

The crash took placeat around 2am when the men’s cars collided at high speed on Al Ghous Highway, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The men were reportedly identified as BDF employees Abdulla Nooraldeen Al Awadi and Ali Hussain Al Awadhi.

“Abdulla died on the spot, while Ali died later at King Hamad University Hospital,” a source said. “The two were relatives.”

Both were buried yesterday in Muharraq.

The cars had collided with each other before veering off the road and crashing into palm trees and lampposts.

Both vehicles were completely destroyed with the engines being hurled about 25m from the point of impact.

Four palm trees and two lampposts were uprooted and two other cars were also damaged.

The highway was closed for about two hours to clear the wreckage.

The GDN had previously reported that someone died on Bahrain ́s roads once every four days last year, with an accident reported about once every six minutes on average. – TradeArabia News Service
