Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati said it has appointed Gargour Automotive Trading as the company's authorized distributor for Jordan.

The company, which operates under the Gargour Group, is set to start the sales and service operations from November.

The showroom, located at Al Kilo Roundabout, Amman, will showcase the Maserati model line-up including the latest addition to the range, the Ghibli 4-door sports executive sedan, said a statement from Maserati.

With an increase of 24.5 per cent over 2012, the luxury car manufacturer has reported its best ever sales performance in the MEA region for 2013. The result of the first six months of 2014 already exceeded the sales of 2013 overall, it added.
 
Umberto Cini, the managing director of Maserati Global Overseas Markets said its global mission was to produce 50,000 cars annually over the coming years.

"During the past 12 months Maserati has made a giant leap forward in the development of the Middle East market. We are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation with Gargour Automotive Trading," he stated.
