Kamaz trucks... possible sale to Gulf

Gulf countries ‘eyeing Russian truck purchase’

MANAMA, December 18, 2014

Gulf countries are interested in buying products from Kamaz, a Russian truck manufacturer, said a top official.

“I had a conversation with the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain on the possible sale of our trucks on the Bahraini market and markets of other Gulf countries,” Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.

However, according to Manturov, Russian trucks have to be certified to meet the requirements of the Gulf countries, before they could be sold in these countries.

“We'll certainly do it in the nearest future”, added the Minister.

According to the Head of Industry and Trade Ministry of the Russian Federation, Russian companies that use Russian materials and resources currently have “enormous opportunities” to penetrate into foreign markets, particularly the markets of the Gulf countries.

“Given the strong preferences that our industry unexpectedly received with rising dollar and the depreciation of the ruble, the companies that use Russian materials have excellent opportunities to penetrate into foreign markets, and the Gulf countries are no exception,” said Manturov. – TradeArabia News Service
