The latest car models are set to go on show in Istanbul, which will see more than 600,000 automobile enthusiasts.

The Istanbul Autoshow 2015 will run from May 22 to 31 at the TUYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center, organised in co-operation of ODD (Automotive Distributors' Association) and TUYAP Tum FuarcIlIk YapIm, said a statement.

Being the new wonders of the world, the models will be exhibited on a total of 120,000 sq m of indoor area in 14 halls, it said.

Mustafa Bayraktar, ODD board chairman, said the fair was one of the most important events that would contribute to the reputation and awareness of the Turkish automotive industry, both at home and abroad, and commented on the fair's concept.

"Automobile brands no longer see fairs as a space where they can demonstrate their latest models; they also see fairs as a platform where technologies of the future can be introduced to consumers. Lately, novel technologies are taking quite shorter to materialise,” said Bayraktar.

“A feature that we could not even dream of a couple of years ago can quickly become reality. We believe that fairs have that magical power which can turn dreams into reality. Moving on from this fantastic feeling, we determined the concept of this year's fair as the 'wonderland'. And as part of this concept, we defined our automobiles as the 'new wonders of the world’,” he said.

Ilhan Ersozlu, autoshow president, TUYAP Tum FuarcIlIk YapIm, said: ”We will provide exhibitors and visitors with every comfort on a total of 145,000 sq m fair grounds consisting of 120,000 sq m of indoor and 25,000 sq m of outdoor space at TUYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center, Beylikduzu.
