Infiniti registers 26pc growth in 2014

DUBAI, February 5, 2015

Infiniti has strengthened its position as the region’s fastest growing premium automotive brand in the Middle East registering a growth of 26 per cent during 2014, said a company statement.

Infiniti’s performance is further underlined by the fact that its growth is more than double the pace of the regional premium automotive market, it added.

The company’s strategic steps towards broadening its product portfolio and network expansion have resulted in the brand delivering 7,062 vehicles to customers. Over the last month, the brand launched a total of three new showrooms, in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

Juergen Schmitz, managing director of Infiniti Middle East, said: “The consumption of luxury goods in the Middle East surged by 11 per cent in 2014, driven primarily by a rise in consumer spending power.”

“At Infiniti we are committed to expanding our model range as well as our powertrain offering which will better enable us to cater to a wider audience of discerning premium seeking customers,” he added.

The key drivers of growth for the brand were its SUV range. Infiniti’s QX80 continued to build on its regional success registering a sales increase of 46 per cent, delivering 1,421 vehicles to customers.

The recently launched 2015 model is expected to further drive the growth in the region offering a ‘First Class, Every Day’ experience to its customers with a number of new design and technological innovations.

The QX50 also contributed strongly accounting for a sales increase of 67 per cent delivering 562 vehicles to customers. The popular QX60 also contributed strongly with 22 per cent to Infiniti’s growth delivering 1,568 vehicles to customers across the region. Infiniti’s iconic QX70 further accounted for 21 per cent of the brand’s growth delivering 1,461 vehicles to customers.

“2014 was a fantastic year for Infiniti in the Middle East. We became the region’s fastest growing premium automotive brand due to our expanding and exciting product line-up, supported by the success of the all-new Q50 that was one of our most popular vehicles,” said Schmitz.

“Furthermore, our network is also growing with the launch of three new showrooms in KSA and Lebanon. We closed out the year with the launch of our full size SUV, the QX80 which helped further increase sales – a success that we expect to continue in 2015,” he added.

The all-new Q50 has been successful in the Middle East. Equipped with two new world’s first production performance technologies – Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering technology and Active Lane Control, Infiniti, delivered almost 900 units to customers since March 2014.

Globally, Infiniti had a record-breaking year with global sales of more than 186,200 vehicles, up 13.5 per cent from the previous year. December 2014 was the best ever month in Infiniti’s history with almost 19,700 vehicles sold. This is a 7.5 per cent increase compared to December a year ago. Overall, Infiniti reached all-time high results in 19 markets around the world in calendar year 2014, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
