Mercedes-AMG win 3 Mideast awards

DUBAI, November 6, 2015

The Mercedes-AMG has garnered three awards at the 2015 Middle East Car of the Year (Mecoty) awards, held at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai, UAE recently.

Mercedes-AMG’s CLA 45 was awarded for the 'Best Compact Executive Performance,' while the GT S claimed the title of 'Best Premium Performance Coupe' and S 63 Coupé 'Grand Tourer,' said a statement.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45, the Mercedes-AMG GT S and the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupé are all definitive representatives of the AMG’s Driving Performance brand claim, embodying driving performance like no other vehicles in their segments, it said.

Dirk Fetzer, director - Sales and Marketing at Daimler Middle East and Levant, said: “To receive three awards at the Middle East Car of the Year awards is a true honour for Mercedes-Benz and affirms our leadership position in the luxury automotive segment but at the same time also our clear leadership with AMG in the high performance segment.

"We are delighted to see that our S-Class model – now as coupé - continues to win for the second consecutive year. This is a demonstration of its leading position in the premier luxury segment. Like no other trademark in the automotive sector, the Mercedes star stands for an unparalleled combination of fascination, perfection and responsibility - The best or nothing.”

The models included in the Mecoty categories underwent a stringent review process over a seven-month period by a select panel of judges across the Middle East region.

The criteria on which entries were evaluated included: design and quality (exterior and interior); emotional appeal and driver satisfaction; handling and drivability; value for money (new purchase and resale); safety and durability; comfort and practicality; performance and capability; environmental friendly; technological innovation and regional appeal. - TradeArabia News Service
