Aldar partners with water taxi service Jalboot

ABU DHABI, March 14, 2017

Aldar Properties, a leading real estate developer in Abu Dhabi, UAE, has partnered with high-speed water taxi service Jalboot to provide a new, exciting mode of transport for the visitors to Aloha Abu Dhabi, the city’s most celebrated beach festival.

Meaning both ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ in Hawaiian, ‘Aloha Abu Dhabi’  is set to take place from March 28 to April 1 at Al Muneera Beach Plaza, Abu Dhabi’s first waterfront retail development at Al Raha Beach.

Organised by Aldar Properties in partnership with destination marketing specialists Wise Inc., the five-day extravaganza reflects Al Muneera Beach Plaza’s warm and welcoming spirit and is open to the public.

It will bring families and friends together to celebrate spring break with shopping, dining and entertainment amidst spectacular views of the Arabian Gulf.

As part of the deal by Aldar, the water taxis from Abu Dhabi Mall station will ferry the visitors to Aloha Abu Dhabi site.

Jalboot’s water taxi stations are located at Abu Dhabi Mall, Yas Marina, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Etihad Towers, Hiltonia Corniche and Zaya Nurai Island.

With each trip taking less than an hour, the boats offer an alternative to road transport, allowing residents to reach the event with ease, and the opportunity to take in views of the capital from the sea.

Each water taxi offers 40 comfortable leather seats, air conditioning, complimentary wifi and a booming sound system, and guests can enjoy snacks and refreshments served by the fleet’s professional on-board crew.

Zahra Al Ali, the marketing manager, Aldar Properties said: "As Aloha Abu Dhabi returns bigger and better this year, we are delighted to partner with Jalboot to offer our visitors an exclusive high-speed water taxi service with special rates for the festival."

"This provides greater accessibility and an exciting journey to Al Raha Beach, perfectly aligned with the entertainment we intend to deliver to our festival visitors," she stated.

“This year, Aloha Abu Dhabi will feature a variety of exciting new attractions, shows and brands, providing a thrilling entertainment, shopping and dining experience, in addition to water-based sports activities,” added Al Ali.

The journey from Abu Dhabi city (Abu Dhabi Mall) to Aloha Abu Dhabi festival takes 45 minutes and costs Dh70 ($19) for a round trip or Dh40 ($11) for one way. Two boats will be shuttling 40 visitors each at a time, leaving every 30 minutes from 15.30 until 23.30.

“The Jalboot team are all excited to be the exclusive transportation partner of such a fantastic event on the Abu Dhabi calendar,” remarked Rob Chinman, the head of sales and marketing for Jalboot.

“With over 8,000 visitors in its first year, and with so much more on offer this year, from live music, great food and kids entertainment over the five days, I’m sure it will be an even bigger success than 2016,” added Chinman.

Aloha Abu Dhabi festival will bring the region’s most talented musicians, artists and street performers, as well as culinary bazaar serving a wide range of gastronomical delights, and a trendy selection of 60 fashion pop-ups, entertainment shows, restaurant and cafes, said the statement from Aldar.

Furthermore, a spectacular light, sound and fire show promises to delight visitors, who can also explore Al Muneera Beach’s stunning shoreline by participating in water-based sports activities and demonstrations, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
