Audi’s Q8 leads H1 sales growth in Mideast

DUBAI, July 11, 2019

Germany-based automaker Audi Middle East said that its Audi Q8 has been the biggest seller in the region during the first half of 2019 representing 20 per cent of the total volume.

Other winning models include the A8 with a 36 per cent increase on sales over the same period last year and especially in Saudi Arabia, the fastest growing country, which has achieved a 12 per cent total sales growth in 2019.

The Audi Q8 combines the elegance of a four-door luxury coupé with the practical versatility of a large SUV and has been eagerly in demand since its launch in the region during Q3 2018. Richly equipped, comprehensively connected and tough enough for off-road duty, it is a confident companion for business and leisure.

This combination of luxury and performance has grown the total SUV sector for Audi Middle East by 16 per cent. The Q range now represents more than 50 per cent of the total sales volume for the Four Rings in the Middle East.

The “World Luxury Car 2018” winning Audi A8is the flagship of the Audi range and the embodiment of “Vorsprung durch Technik”. This luxury class sedan, which is now available with both V8 and V6 engines, has shown a volume growth of 36 per cent this year in the region and particularly in Saudi Arabia, which has 26 per cent of the regional sales for this model.

Saudi Arabia has also shown a consistent growth for Audi with a year on year increase of 12 per cent. The UAE continues to be the strongest market for the Four Rings in the Middle East with 35 per cent of the total sales but Saudi Arabia is in a robust second place with 21 per cent of the regional volume. Qatar, Kuwait and Lebanon are the next three strongest markets in the region with an average of 11 per cent each of the market share.

With the new Audi Q3, A6 45 TFSI, RS5 Sportback and e-tron models scheduled to arrive, Audi Middle East anticipates a solid second half of the year, a company statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
