INFINITI Engineering Academy

Infiniti calls applications for engineering program

DUBAI, September 18, 2019

Hong Kong-based Infiniti Motor Company is continuing its search for the brightest engineering talent here in the Middle East for the 2019 edition of the Infiniti Engineering Academy.

The closing date of applications this year for the Middle East Final is October 25.

The program aims to enhance the skills of young students looking to go into automotive and motorsport engineering. Being the only recruitment program of its kind in the world, it provides a unique opportunity for students to gain experience in both the premium automotive and Formula 1 industries, with a six months placement at the Infiniti Technical Centre Europe and a further six months at Renault F1 Team.

Since the program has been introduced, the Infiniti Engineering Academy has seen a year-on-year increase in the number of applications received, not only globally but also in the Middle East. As a result, to date, the Academy has witnessed a surge in applications in the region, with an increase of 131% in comparison to last year. With 39 days remaining to apply and competition fiercer than ever, 2019 is set to be the biggest edition for the program yet.

“The Infiniti Engineering Academy, now in its sixth consecutive year, continues to witness great success as we see an increased growth year on year in the number of applications in the region. We look forward to assessing the talent and passion of this year’s applicants as the Academy provides a platform for engineering students to specialize in the automotive sector,” said Markus Leithe, managing director, Infiniti Middle East.

“Students will be chosen from a set of tasks that will assess their current knowledge of the technicalities of the automotive sector, as well as their soft skills. In return, we are delighted to provide them with the opportunity to work with us at the Infiniti Technical Centre Europe and with our partners at Renault F1® Team for a year’s long internship to receive insights of the motoring sport as well as futuristic innovations of the automotive sector,” he added.

The Academy will select one engineering student from the Middle East currently studying in a local and regional university to partake in the program. The Middle East winner will join another six winners from other regions (Asia & Oceania, Canada, China, Europe, Mexico and USA) for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain experience working on both automotive and Formula 1™ technologies.

After a series of tests throughout the application process, ten finalists will be shortlisted to participate in the final assessment event, which will take place in Abu Dhabi at Al Masaood Automobiles and at Yas Marina Circuit on November 27 and 28, ahead of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019.

The selection process involves completing a two-step registration process, passing a series of online tests, a video conference interview, and finally attending an assessment day. – TradeArabia News Service
