SWS Karting to launch at Yas Marina Circuit

The launch of SWS (Sodi World Series) Karting at Yas Marina Circuit will take place as part of an action-packed schedule during the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which commences on November 29.

The Leisure Karting SWS Cup, which takes place at Yas KartZone, now an official SWS track, is a two-day event featuring the new Sodi Kart Fleet. Participants can earn points based on performances for a chance to compete in the 2020 SWS World Finals, due to be held in Dubai next April.

The Sodi World Series is open to anybody aged 15 or above and allows drivers to compete in kart races all over the world, at venues within the SWS tracks’ network (both indoor and outdoor), throughout the year. An Endurance Race will also take place at Yas KartZone on December 19.

The launch of SWS at Yas KartZone will take place on and November 29 and 30, from 7pm – 9pm in a Sprint Race Format of a 10-minute qualifying race followed by two 12-lap events on each day. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including Aston Martin GT4, Caterham and Polaris Driving Experiences.

Entry is priced Dh900 ($245) for F1 ticket holders, and Dh2,190 ($596.2) for non-F1 ticket holders, with a three-day pass to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix included in the cost.

There will also be a Corporate Endurance F1 one-day event, available on November 29 and 30, 11am – 2pm - where corporate and groups can take part in competitive karting at the circuit. Teams are made up of two to four drivers, with a 20-minute qualifying race, followed by a one-hour Endurance event. Cost of entry is Dh900 ($245) per team, and there will be a trophy presentation for the winners. - TradeArabia News Service
