GE to showcase measurement systems

Manama, March 11, 2009

GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies (Gesit) will showcase its range of high accuracy measurement systems at the Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference 2009 in Bahrain.

The event will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from March 15 to18.

Gesit will preview its Sentinel LNG and LCT flowmeters for high accuracy measurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied custody transfer (LCT), respectively.

It will also demonstrate its Aurora moisture measurement meter for natural gas at the expo.

Designed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the Sentinel LNG provides accurate measurement of liquefied natural gas that saves companies both time and money. A reliable and low maintenance product, the Sentinel LNG is perfect for applications within the oil & gas industry.

Sentinel LCT provides reliable and accurate custody transfer measurement not affected by viscosity changes. As oil becomes scarcer and prices rise, high accuracy of transfer measurement is extremely important.

Also designed using CFD, Sentinel LCT improves and simplifies operations within refineries, oil terminals and other applications in the oil & gas industry.

Aurora is a tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) instrument, for on-line continuous measurement of moisture in natural gas. It is a turnkey system which can be located in a hazardous zone, with the ability to access data remotely.

“Our presence in the Middle East region is decades-old and continues to grow,” said Suhel Aboobacker, commercial leader, Middle East & Africa, Gesit.

“The Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference provides the ideal platform for GE to introduce our most recent and innovative products to the region and these will be demonstrated further at our customer seminar which takes place on March 17.

“Gesit is healthcare for infrastructure and is committed to investing in technology, as well as the workforce and will continue to work to elevate the productivity of our oil & gas customers in the region.”

He added: “The Gulf is one of the most important oil and petrochemical regions in the world and relies heavily on sensing instrumentation for pressure, temperature, moisture, gas and flow.  The launch of these additional products will give our customers in the region added benefit, ensuring they receive the very best in terms of equipment.”

Gesit will also showcase other examples from its diverse range of innovative products including its advanced modular calibration system, which combines an advanced multi-function calibrator with world-class pressure measurement and generation.

In addition, it will demonstrate the three technologies used by its range of flowmeters. – TradeArabia News Service
