Fluor’s Kuwaiti refinery contract cancelled

Fluor Corporation today (March 21) announced that it has received notification from Kuwait National Petroleum Company to stop work on the utilities and offsites for the al-Zour refinery.

Fluor has approximately 300 employees performing engineering work on the project. The remaining contract value of approximately $2.1 billion will be removed from the company’s backlog in the first quarter.

Headquartered in Irving, Texas, Fluor is a FORTUNE 200 company and had revenues of $22.3 billion in 2008. – TradeArabia News Service
