Total expands Jordan operations

Amman, August 3, 2009

Total Jordan, a unit of Total, one of the world’s major oil and gas groups, recently launched two new service-stations in Amman.

“The opening of yet more Total service-stations comes in realization of the company’s long-term investment strategy and expansion in the Jordanian fuel market,” said Arnaud Guichard, managing director of Total Jordan.

“Such a strategy is based on the company’s trust in Jordanian potential and capabilities, and on our intention to attract Jordanian partners in all fields, whether with regards to establishing service-stations or operating them.”

Total Jordan previously opened three service-stations, namely, Al Jubaiha service-station and Sweileh service-station on Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street, and Al ‘Abdali service-station. Total Jordan has supplied these service-stations with the very latest multi-product dispensers and electronic automated gauging systems.

The stations are also designed according to Total’s international safety standards, and with the aim of preserving the environment, by means of vapor recovery technology, multi-layered fuel tanks, and flexible filling pipes, specially-designed to contain petroleum derivatives.

The two new stations are located on Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street and Al-Yarmouk Street (Wadi Al Remam). – TradeArabia News Service
