Shell chief attends KOC anniversary event

Kuwait, December 23, 2009

The CEO of Royal Dutch Shell (Shell), a global group of energy and petrochemical companies, recently visited the 75th anniversary event of Kuwait Oil Company, one of the largest oil companies in the world.

Peter Voser, chief executive officer of Shell, was visiting Kuwait for the first time since his appointment in July.

“It is a privilege to meet with the Amir of Kuwait and to be part of KOC’s 75th celebrations,” Voser said.

“Kuwait has been a strategic partner for Shell since the late 1940s when Shell first brought Kuwait’s crude oil to the market,” he recalled.

“We continue to work closely to explore business opportunities with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and subsidiaries and value the MOU with Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), signed in 2005, which looks to jointly developing downstream projects in global markets,” Voser added.

Recently, Shell made its first liquefied natural gas delivery to KPC’s floating terminal to help Kuwait meet peak summer demand. – TradeArabia News Service
