Dow showcases gas treating capabilities at Sogat
Abu Dhabi, March 23, 2014
The Dow Chemical Company is showcasing its full range of innovations, designed to reduce the capital and operating expenses of the gas processing industry’s assets, at a conference in Abu Dhabi starting today (March 23).
The Sour Oil and Gas Advanced Technology (Sogat) exhibition and conference will run till March 27 at the Beach Rotana.
Dow Oil, Gas and Mining, a business unit dedicated to bringing chemistry solutions to the oil, gas and mining sectors, will be exhibiting a full-range of solutions at the event, including its Amine Management Program, amine and physical solvents used in gas sweetening and the Ucarsep Heat Stable Salt Remediation Process.
Jan Lambrichts, senior technical service manager, Dow Oil, Gas & Mining, will also present a technical paper during the conference entitled “Designing for Low Partial Pressure Acid Gas Removal.”
Adriano Gentilucci, commercial director, Dow Oil, Gas & Mining, said: “Sogat is an important industry platform to share local insight and collaborate to address the industry’s most pressing issues. These conversations drive our collaboration effort which often leads to game-changing advances and in turn helps take the industry forward.”
“We also value the opportunity at Sogat to showcase our core gas treating technical and application expertise and full range of products and services, that offers industry the technology options to maximise efficiency while minimising costs.”
The Amine Management Program is a comprehensive gas sweetening service programme tailored to each customer’s performance objectives and optimizes their total system costs.
The service programme uses Dow’s proprietary simulation software, which offers customers performance prediction technology. At least 50 of these references are in the Middle East and Africa, and Dow solvents treat the majority of all LNG from Middle East plants.
Dow is the only gas treating solvent supplier that has its own solvent purification system, the Ucarsep Heat Stable Salt Remediation Process. It is a solvent purification system that removes contaminants from the amine system while the system is still running to improve the amine solution’s performance while avoiding costly shutdown time. The technology is well proven by over 15 years of commercial operation globally. - TradeArabia News Service
