Bahrain posts 85pc drop in power cuts

MANAMA, September 23, 2014

Bahrain has registered an 85 per cent drop in the average duration of power cuts this year, the lowest number of blackouts ever in Bahrain's history, said Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr Abdulhussain Mirza.

Rise in the number of maintenance centres and mobile power generators as well as engineers and technicians have helped reduce the number and duration of power cuts, he said in a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The ministry has also increased the number of smart cars capable of detecting the affected areas to 17 and the number of employees receiving complaints to 60. - TradeArabia News Service
