Yemen LNG fully operational, resumes exports

SANAA, September 27, 2014

Yemen LNG said on Friday it had resumed operations and exports from the Balhaf liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal.

The company said in February it was planning to shut one of its two production lines, Train 1, for 10 days of maintenance in September.

"Yemen LNG confirms that it is fully operational in Sana'a and Balhaf with plant operations, including LNG exports, continuing as normal," the company said in a brief statement.

The Balhaf gas export terminal is run by France's Total and ships LNG, primarily to Asia and to some European countries.

The $4.5 billion plant -- the impoverished country's biggest industrial complex -- has a combined capacity to produce 6.7 million tons of LNG a year.-Reuters
