British oil major BP has awarded a $110-million contract to Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company, a leading construction company, for setting up a gas-gathering system at the Khazzan gas project in Oman.

“Galfar has been awarded a contract for construction and installation of a gas-gathering system (Phase One) for Khazzan gas project by BP. The approximate value of the contract is $110 million. We expect a reasonable income from this project,” a Galfar statement was quoted as saying by Muscat Daily.
 
The company said the contract involves construction of DSS (duplex stainless steel) pipelines, including main headers, sub-headers, flow lines and above-ground installations.

The duration of the contract is approximately 40 months.
