Global media gets first-hand look of Aramco facilities

DHAHRAN (Saudi Arabia), September 21, 2019

State oil giant Saudi Aramco organized a comprehensive media tour of its Khurais and Abqaiq oil processing facilities to give them a first-hand look after the recent drone attack and also showcase its reliability, particularly its dedicated and trained employees.
 
The delegation consisted of representatives from global, regional, and local media outlets was taken to the attack site to demonstrate the company’s central role in the world economy and its employees resilience in the face of adversity and crises.
 
The tour enabled journalists and their broadcast crew to get a n a first-hand look at the damaged components of the facilities and also the rapid progress of restoration works undertaken by Saudi Aramco to ensure continuous uninterrupted energy supply to the world, said the statement from Aramco.
 
The media team was briefed on Aramco's rapid response and resilience in the face of the attacks which shows its preparedness in terms of crisis and emergency management plan and the courage, dedication and proficiency of Saudi Aramco employees.
 
Employees of Khurais and Abqaiq reiterated to journalists what Saudi Aramco’s President and Chief Executive Amin H. Nasser has stated regarding the company’s rapid and creative efforts to restore its production capacity in record time following the attacks.
 
Production at Khurais resumed within 24 hours of the attack; Abqaiq production resumed to 2 million barrels per day soon after, and production of 5.7 million barrels per day will be restored by the end of Septemberaid the state oil giant. 
 
Saudi Aramco was also able to ensure that not a single shipment to its international customers has been missed or canceled as a result of the attacks, and the company will continue to fulfil its mission of providing the energy the Kingdom and the world needs, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
