, November 13, 2012

A woman holds a large snapping turtle washed into her yard by Hurricane Sandy, while cleaning up debris on Staten Island in New York City, on November 12. Police raised the storm-related fatality toll in New York City to 43 and at least 121 people have perished in the storm, which caused an estimated $50 billion in property damage and economic losses and ranks as one of the most destructive natural disasters to hit the US Northeast.
