Celebrations turned sweet for Bahrainis this year when a 200kg cake was cut at the Public Security Club to mark National Day and the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Hamad. The (5m by 2m) cake was prepared by supervisor Faiza Al Daham and chef Yusuf.

The kingdom is already decked up with festive lightings and the red and white national flag amid four-day celebrations across Bahrain.

Several events have been planned to mark the occasion by government organisations and national societies. The celebrations will culminate with a laser show and fireworks extravaganza.
