World's first cinema reopens

The front facade of L'Eden cinema, the world's first and oldest cinema, is illuminated during an inauguration of its reopening in La Ciotat, southeastern France, on October 9. The theatre, which screened in 1899 the first film in history made by the French Lumiere brothers, was closed in 1995 for security reasons and reopened today after its renovation.
