American pop superstar Akon has revealed that he’s planning on running for US President - – and wants rap legend Kanye West as his running mate.

In an interview with Pulse 95 Radio in Sharjah, the superstar and philanthropist addressed the speculation, saying he is considering the political move, which would put him in direct competition with friend and fellow rapper, Kayne West.

Speaking about the possible rivalry, Akon said: ’I don’t see Kayne as competition but as a benefit.’

Akon wants to use his influence and popularity to lift the spirit of the youth and inspire them to strive for whatever they want to achieve.
