$1bn Salam Resort Bahrain debuts at Cityscape
Dubai

Sama Dubai, the international real estate investment and development arm of Dubai Holding, is showcasing the Phase-1 components of the Dh3.67 billion ($1 billion) Salam Resort Bahrain at Cityscape Abu Dhabi.

A premier real estate development and investment exhibition, Cityscape Abu Dhabi, will run until May 15 at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre.

The event, spanning more than 30,000 sq m with over 300 exhibitors is expected to draw over 25,000 visitors from nearly 100 countries.

Since the announcement of the Salam Resort Bahrain project, this is the first time that a scale model of the island resort’s unique features will be up for public viewing, said a comopany official.

'Located just 45 kilometres from Bahrain World Trade Center and close to Bahrain Formula 1 Track, Salam Resort Bahrain will offer premium five-star service throughout its comprehensive range of facilities,' Farhan Faraidooni, Executive Chairman of Sama Dubai, said.

Phase-1 of the project will include a 288-room luxury beach hotel, seven waterfront hotel villas, a 20,000 sq m state-of-the-art conference centre and six royal villas on a private island.

The second phase will encompass a residential community and retail outlets set in traditional souk style, he said.

Faraidooni said Cityscape Abu Dhabi was an excellent opportunity to showcase Salam Resort Bahrain.

'As one of the largest of its kind in Bahrain, as well as the first luxury beach community on the untouched south western coast of the island, we are confident Salam Resort Bahrain will attract discerning investors seeking niche developments,” he added.

Faraidooni recently presented a scale model of the Salam Resort Bahrain project to Bahrain King His Majesty Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa during a private meeting in Manama.

Construction works on the project commenced in September 2007, with Phase-1 expected to be completed in 2009.

Covering an area of 500,000 sq m, the Salam Resort Bahrain will boast hotels, villas, souks, health spas, shops and restaurants.

Comprising unique features and holistic offerings, Salam Resort Bahrain will significantly contribute to the tourism industry in Bahrain, while opening up several employment opportunities.

The project is a rich tribute to the traditions and colourful culture of Bahrain, reflected through its highly detailed architectural design. The resort will resemble a traditional Bahraini town in its aesthetic elements, luxurious facilities and overall ambience, he said.

Committed to sharing Dubai’s evolutionary real estate achievements, Sama Dubai develops and invests in real estate around the globe.

The high-end Salam Resort and Spas brand aims to be one of the finest integrated, luxury resort developments in the world. Although different in their offerings, each Salam property, located at a prime location, will reflect the culture and heritage of its host country, Faraidooni pointed out.

The Sama Dubai stand will also feature the company’s other projects such as the $3 billion “Amwaj”, $1.1 billion “Salam Resort and Spa- Yiti”, the $550 million “Dubai Towers – Doha”, and the $17.7 billion “The Lagoons”.-TradeArabia News Service
