Hermès opens new store in Bahrain

Manama, April 17, 2008

After the launch of its Dubai outlet in 2004, Hermès, leading maker of harness and saddles, has opened a new store in Manama as part of its regional expansion plan.

The company, which boasts of six generations of enterprising artisans, have opened up new domains and conquered new markets.

The store located in the heart of the city reflects the modern spirit of the architectural concept created by RDAI, the interior architecture agency headed by Rena Dumas who designs the Hermes stores all around the world.

'A project does not only start with the architecture of the building. It commences by a study of the country, the town, the street, in order to finish as a veritable voyage, at the interior.' says Rena Dumas.

A contemporary spirit emanates from the shapes and the structure of the store. The façade, with its mirror polished metal frame and glass skin of silk-screen printed gold stripes palpitates like a lantern.

Hermès will carry in a welcoming bright space the 14 different groups of products: Leather, Scarves, Ties, Men's and Women's Ready-To-Wear, Perfume, Watches, Diaries, Hats, Gloves, Footwear, Enamel, Homeware, and Jewelry, said a company representative.

Since its beginning in early 19th century Paris as imbued with respect for the past and enthusiasm for the future, they transmitted to their successors the cult of beautiful materials crafted with excellence, the love of beautiful objects made to last and the spirit to keep on making it new.

The company is now led by CEO Patrick Thomas and the Artistic Direction is led by 6th generation family members, Pierre-Alexis Dumas and Pascale Mussard.-TradeArabia News Service
