BenQ retains projector market positions
Dubai, March 11, 2009
BenQ Asia Pacific has remained number two in the projector market and number one in short-throw segment with 36.5 per cent market share, the company said.
The results were drawn from the company’s performance in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China and Hong Kong), the Middle East and Africa.
The short-throw market claimed the top spot in 14 countries, including Japan, considered a highly demanding and competitive market.
BenQ ranked first in the digital light processing (DLP) segment within this region through the year of 2008 according to the Futuresource Consulting.
“The short-throw technology is the future, which does away with the need for large spaces that conventional projectors are restricted to,” said Adrian Chang, president of BenQ Asia Pacific Corp.
“People can enjoy the same picture size only at half the projection distance, making them ideal for home movie viewing and gaming, as well as meeting room or classroom demos and presentations where space is limited—and that advantage has resulted rapid market growth.
“In 2008, the global and Asia Pacific short-throw market grew 112 per cent and 115 per cent respectively. We are confident and expecting to robust growth to continue in 2009.”
“BenQ foresaw the user trend and launched quality short-throw models to satisfy consumers’ needs. Positive sales results have been reported from many countries, and we’re especially excited to be the short-throw leading brand we’ve achieved in the highly demanding and competitive Japanese market.” Chang added.
BenQ offers a full rang of short-throw projectors. The MP512ST with its convenient HDMI/audio/video connections allows consumers to enjoy home entertainment.
The MP522ST, a total small space solution for business and education, is ideal for small meeting room and classroom lively projections, while the MP771, with a high 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness and extra short throw technology, is excellent for public display applications and Interactive white board solution.
BenQ projector also ranked number one in super video graphics array (SVGA) segment in Asia Pacific, Middle and Africa markets with 12 countries including Japan, Korea, Australia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia winning top three spots. – TradeArabia News Service
