Samsung, the global leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies, has announced the official launch of its regional offices in the Levant area.
The launch was celebrated in a cocktail reception that brought together a host of VIPs from the Levant, amply reflecting the depth of the economic partnership in the region.
The Jordanian minister of Information and Communications Technology, Basem Rousan, and the Korean ambassador to Jordan, Pong Kil Chin attended the celebration as guests of honor.
Samsung’s new regional offices were created for the purpose of bolstering Samsung’s brand value and overall customer satisfaction in the Jordanian, Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Palestinian markets.
The offices will oversee the company’s activities in each of those countries, a responsibility previously shouldered by Samsung Gulf in Dubai.
Commenting on the launch, Basem Rousan, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to enabling the investment and regulatory environment that encouraged Samsun to choose Jordan as the base for its Levant operations.
Rousan also eluded to the Government’s efforts to create special economic zones aimed at providing competitive and business-friendly climate as well as focus on developing centers of expertise and leveraging the ‘clustering effect’ for targeted industries such as the Offshore Contact Centre Industry and IT-enabled BPO.
The minister referred to the Internship Programme for Fresh ICT Graduates which is intended to bridge the gap between graduates and the requirements of the job market and emphasized that the ministry will always support the development and growth of the ICT sector.
Sunny Hwang, president of Samsung Electronics Levant, said: “I am thrilled to announce the official launch of our regional offices in the Levant, as we are now able to further expand our network of clients by providing customers in the region with a constantly-updated lineup of electronics and digital solutions."
"We seek to penetrate the Levant market under an entirely new methodology, and to transform the reality of electronics and digital technology in the region," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
