Landmark Group opens first Centrepoint in RAK
Dubai, October 1, 2009
Landmark Group, one of the Middle East’s largest retail conglomerates, has launched the first Centrepoint store in Ras Al Khaimah.
Centrepoint represents Landmark Group's strategy to create a 'single destination shopping experience' by integrating four of its core retail concepts, Babyshop, Splash, Shoe Mart and Lifestyle under one roof to cater to men, women and children.
First launched in Kuwait in 2005, Centrepoint has grown to become the largest non-food retail destination in the Middle East with about 65 stores and a retail space in excess of 3.3 million sq ft.
“This new branch of Centrepoint is a strategic step in our ambitious growth plans across the Middle East,” said Micky Jagtiani, chairman, Landmark Group.
Located at the Ras Al Khaimah – Sharjah highway, the new Centrepoint covers a total of 65,000 sq ft. The store is the ninth in the UAE and features ‘Beautybay’ for the first time in Ras Al Khaimah. Established in early 2009 and with 13 stores across the Middle East, Beautybay retails leading beauty and wellbeing brands.
“We are looking to expand from our current 65 stores to 70, which will make us the largest retail brand in the Middle East by 2010,” said Vinod Talreja, director of Centrepoint and Babyshop.
Centrepoint has been very successful in the mid market retail segment since its launch and is currently the flagship brand of the Landmark Group present across the GCC, Jordan and Egypt, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
